West Union Public Access Point
on Sugar Creek in Indiana
The West Union Public Access Point is located at the West Union Covered Bridge (no longer in use), which is just off Tow Path Road where it crosses Sugar Creek. There is ample parking on the north side of the river. However, the path to the river (to put in or take out a boat) is very steep (and very muddy after rainfall). It is steep enough that you may want to use a rope to haul your boat up or lower it down to the access point.
From the water, the access is river right, basically underneath the long, red covered bridge. The path up (very steep) is just downstream of the bridge.
