Ogala offers 6 miles of lowland multiple-use trails through scenic hardwood forest. Hiking, biking and horseback riding are all allowed on the trails. The longer trail passes by nearby Sundance Lake, which is handicapped accessible fishing spot.

Horse riders and mountain bikers are required to have a trail permit and stay on trails designated for their use. Annual ($35/year) and day-use ($5/day) permits are available from Hoosier National Forest offices and several local vendors.

Length: Approx. 6 miles
Trail Type: unknown*
Skill Level: unknown*
Trail Description:

The lowland trails pass through hardwood forest. One trail passes to the north of Sundance Lake.*

One user of this site submitted the following description: It started off fine with some shot up signs to indicate that yes you were on a trail. Later, there were no signs and the trail would be no more than a deer path it would end when you cross pastures.? This trail is in need of some serious maintence on signage to help keep you going the right direction. This trail should be avoided until some maintence on the signs is done. There are many other trails that cross it and the HNF map I have is not accurate in some of the places on the trail. This is nothing new to HNF maps but in this case it is very easy to walk onto some private property.

* We need your help with better describing Ogala trail for mountain biking purposes. Please submit trip reports and trail descriptions to TripReports@IndianaOutiftters.com
